Here’s one bill that didn’t stir up much controversy during the legislative session and, well, why would it? Gov. Brian Sandoval signed AB24 on Friday, which “makes various changes to Nevadan license plates”. What changes exactly? Nevadan drivers can now represent 150 years of statehood with limited edition plates.
The limited edition design closely matches the state flag, with a “Battle Born” seal with a deep blue background. The words “The Silver State” line the bottom, alongside the dates 1864 and 2014.
Sandoval says the plates will go on sale this summer for $32.50. Of each sale, $25 will go toward supporting the state’s 150th anniversary festivities.
The specialty plates will be available at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) until Oct. 31, 2016.
