Sandoval reaches out to energy secretary… for a second time

by ALEX POMPLIANO

Gov. Brian Sandoval has sent a second letter to Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz requesting a meeting to talk about Department of Energy activities in Nevada. Sandoval has made it clear that he wants to speak with Moniz about the controversial plan to haul canisters of radioactive waste from Oak Ridge, Tenn. and to the Nevada National Security Site northwest of Las Vegas.

Sandoval first wrote to Moniz back in June but has gotten no response.

According to the AP, in his second letter — dated Friday — Sandoval again requests a meeting “as soon as possible.”
