On late Tuesday, Gov. Brian Sandoval signed a bill that will create a tax incentive program to lure film productions to Nevada.
Introduced by Sen. Aaron Ford, Senate Bill 165 would provide up to $20 million in tax breaks for production companies that spend at least 60% of their money toward making movies in Nevada. Ford took to Twitter to express his enthusiasm for the passed legislation.
Delighted to announce that the Governor has signed #SB165, my film-incentive bill! Thanks to everyone who has supported this effort!

Ford said the bill will ultimately create jobs and would kickstart the birth of a new industry for the state. He also said that also expects the legislation would bring more tourism to Nevada.
